Pleasant Surprise!

I am an organizing guru and thought I had finally finished my sewing/embroidery studio. While reading the book, I realized the embroidery process could be a lot more pleasurable with some fine tweeking in my studio. I set up a hooping area and place for storage for all the hoops and aids. I already had a counter-height cutting area so I put some rubberized material on the table under my cutting mat. When I get ready to hoop, I just take the cutting mat off and have a perfect non-slip place to hoop. Also, the hoops and aids were near my embroidery machine with not a lot of room to hoop next to my machine. I had an old piano bench that I salvaged from the garage and placed it under the window near the cutting table. Inside the bench I placed all my hoops along with your CHILDREN'S PLACEMENT KIT and other hooping aids. I don't have a lot of hoops as my main focus is sewing for children so this is more than adequate. An added benefit to the rubberized mat is the cutting mat doesn't slide when I am cutting.
I also love your ideas for ribbon storage and plan on making some of the ribbon spools. Painted in bright colors, they will look perfect in my Mary Engelbreit studio. I have a six-year old granddaughter so I have a fairly large ribbon collection. (Currently they are in plastic containers in a cabinet which "works" but I would really like them on display as they make me happy.)
Thank you for this book and helping me think outside the box.
